Amsterdam merkezli Corridor Project Space ile NOKS Bağımsız Sanat Alanı beraber düzenledikleri “Seyahatin Geleceği: Sanat Eserinin Yolculuğu” sergisi ile sanat eserinin yolculuğuna dair hikayeleri biraraya getiriyor.

NOKS Sanat Eseri Taşıma Şirketi ve Corridor Sanat Deposu'nun işbirliği, SAHA Derneği ve Hollanda İstanbul Konsolosluğu'nun destekleriyle.

Seyahatin Geleceği: Sanat Eserinin Yolculuğu

Gelecek ve yolculuk –en azından modern ütopyanın henüz canlı oduğu zamanlarda- ilerleme fikrinde birleşir. Bugün ise bu ilerleme fikrinin sancıları ve tökezlediği noktaları yaşıyor, tartışıyoruz. Tıpkı diğer alanlarda olduğu gibi sanat eserinin de yolculuğu pek de rahat değildir. Günümüz sanatçısının seyahat halinde oluşu, farklı coğrafyalarda üretmesi ve sergilemesi, sanat eserinin de sürekli bir seyahat halinde olmasını beraberinde getiriyor.

Seyahati ve sanat nesnesinin ulaşımını merkezine alan bu sergi, Noks Bağımsız Sanat Alanı ile Amsterdam merkezli Corridor Project Space işbirliği ile gerçekleştiriliyor ve Corridor Project Space'in 2017'de başlattığı Teotwawki* sergi serisinin son ayağını oluşturuyor. Dayanışmanın Geleceği, Neyin Geleceği?, Paranın Geleceği, Ekolojinin Geleceği, Arşivin Geleceği sergilerinden sonraki “Seyahatin Geleceği” sergisinin ikinci bölümünün ana konusunu sanat nesnesinin seyahatine ilişkin sanatçıların yaşadığı deneyimler ve ortaya çıkan hikayeler oluşturuyor.

Teotwawki: [ti.at.wak.i] “İngilizce "The End of the World as We Know It”. " "Bildiğimiz Dünyanın Sonu" cümlesinin kısaltılmış kullanımıdır. Ve günlük hayatın tamamen değişebileceği yeni ve beklenmedik bir durumun ortaya çıkması anlamına gelir. Medeniyetin, şehir hayatının, toplumun yazılı veya yazılım olmayan kuralları biranda değişebilir ve insanlar hayatta kalmak için yeni beceriler geliştirmek zorunda kalabilirler. Teotwawki sergileri de gelecek ile ilgili çeşitli başlıkları kullanarak öngörüler, tahminler ve kenanetler üzerine düşündürmeye çalışıyor.

"Seyahatin Geleceği: Sanat eserinin yolculuğu" sergisi süresince bir sanat taşımacılığı şirketine dönüşecek olan NOKS Bağımsız Sanat Alanında sanatçıların eser taşıma süreçlerine dair hikayelere yer verilirken, sanat eserinin dolaşımı ile ilgili imkan ve imkansızlıklar üzerine de konuşma ve tartışma fırsatları yaratılmış olacak.

CORRIDOR PROJECT SPACE

Corridor Project Space, iç ve dış sergileme alanları olan Amsterdam merkezli bağımsız ve disiplinlerarası bir sanat inisiyatitidir. Kurumsal ve ticari olanın dışında, yeni içerikler yaratma hedefindeki deneysel sanat pratiklerinin önemine inanırlar. Corridor Project Space Suzan Kalle, Suat Öğüt ve Müge Yılmaz’ın yürütücülüğündedir.

NOKS BAĞIMSIZ SANAT ALANI

NOKS Bağımsız Sanat Alanı, sanatçı ve akademisyen Elvan Ekren ve Volkan Kızıltunç tarafından 2017 yılında kurulmuş ve Kadıköy, İstanbul'da yeralan bağımsız bir sanat mekanıdır. Ana akım sanatsal yönelimlere karşı otonom bir duruşla deneysel sergi projeleri gerçekleştirmeyi amaçlayan NOKS özellikle fotoğraf, fotoğraf kitapları ve video projelerine ağırlıkla yer vermektedir. Sanatçıların buluştuğu, tartıştığı, bir laboratuvar olan NOKS aynı zamanda genç sanatçılarla ve sanat öğrencileriyle organik bir bağ kurmayı amaçlayan ortak bir çalışma, üretim, eğitim ve sergileme alanıdır.

A Future of Travel: Journey of the Artwork

Future and travel unite —at least when the modern utopia is still alive— in the idea of progress. Today, we are living through and debating the points where this idea of progress is suffering and stumbling. Just as it is in other areas, the journey of an artwork is not comfortable at all. The fact that today’s artist is in a travelling mode, producing and exhibiting in different geographies, brings along the fact that the artwork is also in constant travel.

This exhibition, focusing on the transportation of the art objects and travel, takes place in cooperation with the NOKS Independent Art Space and the Amsterdam-based Corridor Project Space, and is the last leg of the Teotwawki* exhibition series launched by Corridor Project Space in 2017. The exhibition, which is the second part of the Future of Travel exhibition —the latest one after Future of Solidarity, Future of What, Future of Money, Future of Ecology and Future of the Archive exhibitions—, takes the experiences of artists on travel of the art objects and the stories emerging through these experiences as its main subject.

Teotwawki: [ti.at.wak.i] is an acronym for “The End of the World as We Know It”. It stands for the potential occurrence of a new and unexpected situation where daily life might suddenly shift. Civilisation, urban life, spoken and unspoken rules of society may change and people may need to develop new skills in order to survive. Let us think about predictions, forecasts and prophecies on various themes in the future. We will use the Teotwawki as a tool to dive into the intentions, hopes, expectations and plans of each individual and community.

At the NOKS Independent Art Space, which will be transformed into a company of art transport during the "Future of Travel: The journey of the artwork" exhibition, there will be opportunities to talk on and discuss the possibilities and impossibilities of the circulation of artworks.

CORRIDOR PROJECT SPACE

Corridor Project Space is an independent and interdisciplinary contemporary art initiative in Amsterdam with indoor and outdoor exhibition spaces. They believe in the importance of experimental art practices that focuses on the creation of new content that is off the grid from the institutional and commercial circles. Corridor Project Space is run by Suzan Kalle, Suat Ögüt and Müge Yılmaz.

NOKS INDEPENDENT ART SPACE

NOKS Independent Art Space was founded in 2017 by artist and academician Elvan Ekren and Volkan Kızıltunç as an independent art space located in Kadıköy, Istanbul. At NOKS, which is a space run by artists for artists, the aim is to realize experimental exhibition projects with an autonomous stand against mainstream artistic trends. NOKS, which will mainly include photography and video projects; is a laboratory in which artists perform artistic experiments that challenge boundaries and concepts on the themes of their choice. Over and above it is a place where artists can meet and have discussions. NOKS is also a joint work, production, training and exhibition space aiming to establish an organic bond with young artists and art students.
