Ne Alçaktan, Ne Yüksekten | B3 Koleksiyonu // Neither Too High, Nor Too Low | B3 Collection

B3 Koleksiyonu, mimari bir yapının, sanatla içkin bir yaşam alanına dönüşmesinin hikayesi.
Bu sakin ve mütevazı koleksiyon, adını Aga Khan ödüllü mimar Han Tümertekin'in Arnavutköy sırtlarında tasarladığı B3 Evi'nden alıyor. Koleksiyonun bir rotası yok; dönemsel, ideolojik yahut tematik bir çizgi yerine son derece kişisel bir his geçiyor; hepsini birbirine bağlayan nokta, evle ve Selman Bilal'in dünyasıyla kurdukları ilişki. Sanat dünyasında istatistiğin erkek egemen sonuçlarının hala aşılamadığı bir zamanda, B3 Koleksiyonu'nun Türkiyeli kadın sanatçılara gösterdiği özen, kayda değer bir emsal oluşturuyor.
B3 Koleksiyonu, sanat eserlerine ev sahipliği yapmaktan ziyade, eserlerin evin hayati parçası olarak bütünleştiği, tazeliğini koruyan bir koleksiyon.

The B3 Collection is the story of the transformation of an architectural structure into a living space being immanent to art.
This calm and humble collection is named after the Aga Khan award-winning architect Han Tümertekin's B3 House, which he designed on the ridges of Arnavutköy. The collection has no route; it has very personal feeling rather than a periodical, ideological or thematic line; the point that connects them all together is the relationship they have with the house and Selman Bilal's world. At a time when the male dominant outcome of statistics in the art world still cannot be surpassed, The B3 Collection's attention to female artist from Turkey is creating a remarkable precedent.
Rather than hosting the artworks, the B3 Collection is a collection that preserves its freshness as the artworks become a vital part of the house.

The creator of the labyrinth Daedalus and his son Icarus fuse bird feathers together with beeswax in order to make themselves wings to fly away and escape the tower they had been kept prisoner in. Prior to flying, the father advises his son not to fly too close to the sea, as his wings would get heavy from the moisture, and not to fly too close to the sun, as the heat would melt the wax and his wings would be destroyed. Icarus has a dream on his last night at the tower. He is waiting in a room surrounded by people he thinks are his friends. He feels as light as a bird and as heavy as a rock. Somewhere the sound of water dripping from a tap can be heard. This sound feels like an incarnation walking around, as well as arousing sensations of lust within him. Although he knows he is a hero who brought the earth to its knees, he is unable to carry the weight of his wings alone and deeply concerned about whether or not he will be able to fly. Nonetheless he is killing time and waiting for the moment of flight to arrive.
